RILEY1513, Campfire Fun!

Hello, This is my card for this weeks Riley and Company challenge RILEY1513, hosted by Kelly. She's challenging us to celebrate a summer theme, create a card using a favorite past time that you do during the summer. For an added bonus use the colour Yellow on your card!

My family and I have always enjoyed a great campfire, so I used Campfire Riley. I coloured him with copics. I used an old sketch from SCS SC213.

I made the faux marshmellow sticks with just a few items you probably have. You need two wood toothpicks, I used the flat kind. I tiny handheld square punch, or just cut 8 squares. Glue 2 squares together with the toothpick sandwiched between. I put 2 marshmellows on each stick. Don't worry too much if the edges don't completely stick together. Then cover the whole square, front and back, making sure to fill in the edges if they didn't quite glue together, with liquid applique. Then gently heat with a heat gun to puff it out and give it a slightly roasted look! Voila now you have roasted marshmellows!
On the inside, I used one of the new Funny Bones sentiments released last week Gratitude!

Please join us in our challenge and upload your creation to the Riley and Company Blog! Also make sure to check out the other Design Team members blogs to see what their favorite summer past time is!

Riley Sneak Peek Day 3!

Hello, it's day 3 of the Riley and Company Sneak Peeks! Today I paired one of the new Funny Bones sentiments along with the Mixing Bowl Riley. I separated the sentiment and put half on the front and half inside.

I had this dp from TPC studio-so delish which I think goes well with the image and sentiment. I made a chocolate chip cookie with circle nesties and scrunched up the top piece then sponged it so it had more cookie like texture.

TSG215, Normal Is Boring!

Hello, I made this for this weeks challenge TSG215 at There She Goes. The challenge was to use an Animal. My new stamps arrived this week, which included the Donkey University set, so that's what I used.

I coloured the Donkey with copics, using these colours
Hooves, W7, W5 and W3
Body, W5, W3, and W1
Hair and Nose, E42, E41, and E40
Ears E20 and R11

There's crystal effects on his eyes, and I stamped and cut out an extra nose & hair. The hair was added with a glue dot and the nose with a dimensional.

I had some tye-dye paper from the dollar store, so I used that for the T-shirt and card. I think he looks kinda cool!

YNSFFC02, Just-BEE-Cause!

Hello, Your Next Stamp has there challenge YNSFFC02 up for July, there's a sketch and photo inspiration, my card today uses the sketch!

I just got some new stamps in last week, so I had to ink one up...this Bee is from the Smiley Happy Critter Crew set Three! I love these stamps, they are perfect to make cards for the Kards For Kids Group I belong to...and Your Next Stamp is a Sponser of our little group!

Ok so for my card today, I coloured the Bee with copics and added crystal effects to his eyes and glitter to his wings!

The card base is black, with a layer of white embossed with a Honeycomb EF and then I sponged the edges with daffodil delight.

The center strip is a scrap of dp I had and I used the die-namics fishtale dies to cut it. To finish is, I stamped the sentiment separately, punched it out, sponged the edges and popped it up!

RILEY1413, It's All About Sophie!

Hello, it's time for a challenge from Riley and Company! This weeks challenge RILEY1413 is from Michele, and she's challenging us to use Sophie. I needed some cards recently for my Kards For Kids group, so I used Dorothy Sophie for the card above.

The card base is bashful blue with a layer of white and then Recollections blue gingham. I made a faux brick road with some so saffron cardstock and a brick embossing folder.
For the second card I needed a Goldilocks themed card so I used  a tip from Joy aka Daiseyfreak, and omitted the spider  on the Miss Muffet Sophie stamp so she looks like Goldilocks eating her porridge!

The card base is lavendar lace with a layer of close to cocoa that I stamped with a teddy bear stamp I had from Hanna Stamps.

Sophie was coloured with copics and layered on a pink oval scallop and a label die, sorry I forget which one! Then I finished it with twine.

Please join us in our challenge and upload your creation to the Riley and Company Blog. If you upload to any forums, please use the keyword RILEY1413.

Heads up, Riley and Company sneak peeks start on Sunday July 14th!

Bugaboo July Anything Goes!

Hello, I made this for this weeks Bugaboo Challenge at Catch The Bug Blog, this weeks challenge is July Anything Goes!

I belong to the Kards For Kids group, we make cards for the kids at Toronto`s Sick Kids Hospital. Our leader Bela, often has challenges for us and one is The Three Little Pigs, so I made this for that challenge as well!

This is the Bobble Head Farm Pig. He was turned into stamp form by Totally Stampalicious, so that is what I used, but sadly  they are no longer in business. I stamped him 2 times on the main piece and once again separately. I coloured them all with copics, then cut out the separate pig and popped him up in the center. The sentiment was from a set from Totally Stampalicious.

Since this was a Three little pigs theme I tried to make the background look like the materials they each used to build their houses. I used a mesh EF for the straw, the Tim Holtz brick EF for the bricks and the Forest Branches EF for the sticks.

MOJO300, What's Up!

Hello, I made this for this weeks Mojo Monday challenge, MOJO300! Wow 300, that's alot of sketches!

For my card today, I used the What's Up set from Avery Elle. I coloured the giraffe with copic and cut him out. I stamped his face again, coloured it and popped it up.

For his body I used copic  E34, E31 E53  (I had put them away so I think this was the combo!)
For his spots I used  E18, E09 and E08
For his ears I used E20 and E11
For his nose I used E53, E51 and E50

The card base is midnight muse, with a layer of white embossed with the cloud EF. The designer paper is from Pebbles-Sunny Day.

TSG214, Don't Forget The Rum!

I hope it's ok to enter the There She Goes challenge  more than once, because I had 2 ideas for cards and couldn't decide so I made both...this is the second, here's the first!

The challenge TSG214 is to case a Trendsetter, and I cased Wendy P, this is her card. For mine, I used the barrel from the Shiver Me Timbers set and the sentiment is from the Ship Happens set.

I stamped the barrel 3 times, and coloured with copics. I also added some silver copic atyou spica to the metal bands. Then I cut them out and popped up the one in the front.

The card base is black, with a layer of the new SU smokey slate embossed with the clockworks EF. I sponged the edges with the matching ink and then rubbed on some silver ink from my encore ink pad. For the black strip I distressed the edges a bit and then the creamy caramel piece was scrunched up, and sponged with matching ink, I also ran the pad across the piece to catch the raised bits and give it a bit of a worn leathery look!

Another Critter for YYNSFFC01!

Here's another card I made using the Your Next Stamp Fun Friday challenge YNSFFC01! I loved the cat card so decided to try the dog too!

For this card, I used Smiley Happy Critters Two and the sentiment is from the Smiley Happy Critters set. I coloured the image with copics and added some crystal effects to his eyes.

The card base is black, with a layer of Creative Imaginations designer paper. The center panel is designer paper from the $ store. The bone is a die-namics pet charm.

I just got the new Funny Farm Crew, I love these funny critters, can't wait to ink them up!

Hello, I made this for this weeks challenge TSG214 over at There She Goes! This weeks challenge is to Case a Trendsetter, and you have to case something made for the recent release!

I cased Wendy P, and you can see her card Here!

I used the Shiver Me Timbers set. I coloured the pirate with copics and added a bit of silver gelly roll pen to his belt buckle and silver copic atyou spica to highlight the blade of his sword. The background was stamped with the little skull & crossbones from the set, but it's hard to see in the photo.

YNSFFC01, Smiling Kitty!

Hello, I made this for the challenge YNSFFC01, over at Your Next Stamp! What a fun sketch. I used the cat from the Smiley Happy Critters Two set and the sentiment is from the Smiley Happy Critters set.

The card base is baja breeze with a layer of so saffron that I embossed with a Paw Prints EF, and then sponged the edges.

I found this designer paper a long time ago at a local 2nd hand store...I knew I'd need it some day! lol

I coloured the kitty with copics, and made him an orange tabby just like our senior cat Oliver! The pet charm is a die-namics from My Favorite Things.
