Riley Sneak Peek Day#4!

Hi all, it's Day #4 of the Riley and Company sneak peeks, and today it's all about the Italian Stallion! I saw the 1st Rocky at the movies with my girlfriend when we were young teens, and loved it of course!

Actually Rocky Balbomoose is perfect for Rocky, Ali, or any boxing fan! I coloured Rocky Balbomoose with copics and used the copic 0.3 liner to create the background.

The stars were made with glittery cardstock and punches. I popped up the middle panel and finished it off with some twine!

Make sure to check out the other Designers Blogs to see what they've created and our Guest Designer this month Gina Lindsay!

The Riley and Company Blog Hop and Release is this Thursday September 29th, 10pm est.

Riley Sneak Peek Day#3!

Hello and welcome to Day#3 of the Riley and Company sneak peeks! This is the new Riley as Danny and Sophie as Sandy! Our 2 older girls watched this movie so often on VHS I was sure they were going to wear it out, so we bought them a DVD copy!

For my card today I was inspired by the popular colours of the 50's diners, and records!

I coloured the Riley & Sophie with copics, and cut them out. The card base is black, with a layer of silver. I made the background layer by making records using a 1" circle punch in black and, a circle from the owl punch in red dp, then I used the crop-a-dile to make a hole in the center. I glued all the records to the tempting turquoise and embossed it with a Spots & Dots embossing folder. I thought it had a retro look!

The tile floor was drawn in with a 0.3 copic liner and a black copic. I popped up the characters, and added some tiny heart gems.

This is the inside, the sentiment is from Everyday Sayings and the music notes are from the EK edge punch.

Please make sure to check out the others Designers Blogs, and our Guest Designer this month Gina Lindsay!

Please join us at Riley and Company Thursday September 29th, 10 pm est for the Blog Hop and Release!

Have a Great Day!

Riley Sneak Peek Day#2!

Hello and welcome to Day #2 of the Riley and Company Sneak Peeks! Today I have another Super Hero for you, this is the new Batmoose!

This one took on a life of it's own! I decided to use yellow & black, like the Batman symbol. Then I remember that the TV batman had often been near death caught on a conveyor belt with lots of gears & sharp deadly things about to kill him...so that reminded me of the clockworks EF!

The bats were made with the MS punch. I made up the sentiment online!

This is the inside, I used a sentiment from the Moose Sayings 2 set!

Make sure to check out the other Designers Blogs for more sneak peeks, you can find links on the ridght hand sidebar. We also have Guest Designer Gina Lindsay with us this month!

Then come back and join us on Thursday September 29th, 10pm est for the Riley and Company Release and Blog Hop!

Have a Great Day!

MMTPT163, A Teaparty For Michelle!

Hello, I made this for this weeks Teapot Tuesday Challenge MMTPT163! This weeks Destination is Michelle, it sounds like she's has alot of stress in her life lately, so we're having a teaparty to celebrate a new beginning!

We were to bring girly, flourishes, pearly curly things etc. I was able to fit a few of those things in!

The teacup image is from Mark's Finest Papers Floral Tea set. I recently saw this post by Maureen, and loved the circle punch technique so I had to try it!

The background and the heart are embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper EF.

I was too late to enter it, but I used the sketch from a new Blog Freshly Made Sketches FMS1.

I hope she likes it!

Have a Great Day!

Fun With Nails!

We've been having lots of fun in our house lately playing with fun nail designs! I guess it's just another way to be creative, so I thought I'd share!

Olivia wanted the pencils ends and I thought the lined paper was cute so we combined them, perfect for back to school!

When we we away this summer we went to a flea market on the beach where they were selling lots fun nail polish colours! Below is a picture of Olivia's nails she painted herself, while we we away!

Now you'll have to excuse the dry skin, but below is my first attempt at zebra strips on myself! It actually a bright fushia pink, but you get the idea, I loved these ones!

I'll keep adding to the collection, and hopefully we'll get some better photos!

Have a Great Day!

With Sympathy!

Hello, I wanted to share this sympathy card with you. My Uncle Bob passed away Sunday September 4th, and this is the card I made to send to his family.

He was a very active outdoors kinda guy. When I was younger, a spent 2 or 3 Thanksgivings with my Uncle and his Family. They had a tradition of hunting pheasant out in the woods, meeting up for lunch and having a hot beverage made over a fire, it was a totally new experience for me. Then later we all met back at his house and he cooked up a feast, another new experience for me!

This image seemed perfect, it reminds me of those weekends in the woods it looks so peaceful! It's from a Marks Finest Papers set called In the Forest. I coloured the image with copics, then sponged in the sky and trees.

I used the cracked glass technique, and after it cracked I rubbed in Tim Holtz walnut ink (I wished I had used something lighter).

The card base is black, with a layer of old olive stamped with the woodgrain bg stamp, edges sponged. I cut the hole in the olive piece with a square nestie and added a black piece behind with a smaller opening. This panel is popped up, so the glass image looks recessed.

I finished it off with a little tag and a sentiment from SU silhouette sentiments.

Have a Great Day!

MMTPT162, Eula's 109!!!

Hello, this is my card for this weeks Teapot Tuesday challenge MMTPT162. This week we are making Birthday cards to send to Eula for her 109th Birthday! She sounds like an amzing woman.

We were supposed to bring something beautiful to us. I do love flowers, and colour but my card today represents my love of crafting. I had some little white strips left from another project and they made me think of the faux trellis I have wanted to try, and my SU stamps don't get inked up nearly enough, so this is my first flower trellis! I hope Eula likes it!

The card base is black, with a layer of daffodil delight embossed with the vintage wallpaper EF.

I stamped the image from SU Elements of Style, 2 times and coloured with copics. The image and the frame were made with the octagon nesties. Then I cut some of the flowers from the 2nd piece and popped them up with dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Silhouette Sentiments set, punched out with the MS tag. I thought I was done, finishing it off with some black taffeta ribbon & micro brads, but decided it needed a bit of glitter, so I added that too!

Have a Great Day!

RILEY1811, School/Team Spirit!

Hello, it's time for another Riley and Company Challenge. This weeks challenge is Hosted by Juliet!
Juliet's challenge is a School/Team Spirit sort of theme. Basically, to celebrate the start of school, the football and hockey season, or post season baseball...make something that shows spirit for either a school or Sport team ie: (your alma mater, kid's high school, using your favorite sports team colors/Riley sport stamps, etc)

Today is the first day back to school here, and I was thinking about all the forms we get home, and how to better keep track of them! I made 2 fridge magnets, one for regular school papers using Schoolgirl Sophie and one for sports related papers, like schedules & practice times, using Basketball Riley!

These were super easy and fast to make and to top it off they'll help keep me organized!

I coloured both with copics. Sophie is dressed in our High School colours, and Riley is dresses in our Elementary School colours. I also added silver copic atyou to Riley's # and outfit.

They were both cut with the oval nestie and layered with regular & scallop ovals. The yellow stars are from a die-namic and the silver from a MS punch.

Please join us in our challenge and upload your creation to the Riley and Company Blog. If you upload to any forums, please make sure to use the keyword RILEY1811.

Have a Great Day!

TSMONDAY, Pink, Orange & Yellow!

Hello, this weeks Totally Stampalicious Challenge is a colour challenge, pink, orange, and yellow!

I used the new Fairy Stella, and it looks like most of the Design Team was thinking the same!

Stella is coloured with copics and I added some dazzling diamonds glitter to her wings & wand.

The card base is peach parfait, the dp is from Basic Greys sweet threads and the so saffron was punched with the new lace ribbon punch from SU.

I finished it off with some brads and ribbon!

Joycelyn and Becky are currently working on the new Guest Designer list, and it sounds like there will be 5 new Designers instead of 4, can't wait to see who we'll be working with!

Please join us in our challenge, and upload your creation to the Totally Stampalicious Blog!

This also fits this weeks Bugaboo, Catch the Bug challenge Anything goes!

Have a Great Day!

Craft Day - Beautiful Totes!

Hello, just wanted to share the craft the kids did today! Aren't these cool, gives a whole new reason for getting a Big Shot!

I orginally saw the idea here on Diane's Blog! We usually have a crafting party for Olivia's birthday, and I thought this was a great idea, but I couldn't wait til January! So this was an end of the summer project.

I bought the bags at Michaels, and used the flower & butterfly dies from Stampin Up to cut out the fabric. All the pieces are backed with fusible web.

Once they decided on their layout, I ironed the pieces on.

Here's a photo of my Niece Lauren & Daughter Olivia in the planning process! Olivia doesn't look happy, but trust me she was!

This is a close up of Anna's bag completed. They also added buttons and bling to the centers.

Great, easy, fun project. I love seeing how different the designs are! Another reason I love crafting with the kids, is listening to them interact, take, joke, sing, makes for a fun time together and hopefully lots of good memories!

Have a Great Day!
