TSMONDAY, TV Theme!

Hello, it's time for another Totally Stampalicious TSMONDAY challenge! This weeks challenge is to create something using inspiration from your favorite TV show. Rachael Ray is one of my favorites, I watch her show, buy her magazine and even own a few of her cookbooks! I've made lots of her recipes, and some are regulars at our dinner table!

Now if you watch Rachael Ray, you k now that her favorite colour is orange, she often talks about her Hubby John, and she always refers to extra virgin olive oil as EVOO! So I combined all these elements in my card.

I used the JJ Cook Bugaboo image from Totally Stampalicious. She's coloured with copics.

The words in the background were made with a Justrite font.

I coloured the linen thread on the button with a copic.

Hopefully you can play along this week. Just upload your creation to Mr. Linky at Totally Stampalicious, for a chance to win something cool!

Recipe
Stamps: JJ cook, justrite font
Paper: rich razzleberry, pumpkin pie, white
Ink: memento tuxedo black, rich razzleberry, pumpkin pie
Accessories: copics, EK edge punches, ribbon, button, linen thread, dimensionals

Speedy's Challenge #4 Meoooow!!!!

Hi Everyone, I'm sneakin' in under the wire on this one! I made this for the 4th Speedy's Friends Challenge, we were to create a card or project with an animal on it!

I used the Siamese cat from the Speedy's Friends set. I also made this based on Faith's Original Coaster design. I loved this so much the day she posted it, that I went out & bought the materials (well my mirrors are round) and then never got around to making it!

I stamped my Kitty in versamark and then chocolate chip onto very vanilla and embossed in clear embossing powder. Then I sponged on Tim Holtz antique linen and vintage photo. The eyes are a copic BG05 and a bit of BG09.

The stand itself is 2 - 4" square coasters the front & back are covered with very vanilla, corners rounded and edges sponged in cool caribbean and tempting turquiose! The mats for the mirror were cut with circle and petite circle nesties.

The leaves were made with the sizzix leafy branch, and the flowers were made using the Rolled Flower technique. The flowers are very vanilla, edges sponged with cool caribbean and then I put a bit of Tim Holtz distress stickles on the edges.

Recipe
Stamps: Speedy the Cat's Friends
Paper: very vanilla, chocolate chip, dp
Ink: versamark, chocolate chip, cool caribbean, tempting turquoise
Accessories: copics, sponges, nesties, sizzix leafy branch, distress stickles, dimensionals, jumbo eyelets, ribbon

Happy 17th Birthday Rachel!

Well I can't believe my Daughter Rachel is 17 today, and this is the card I made for her. Rachel is a fan of basketball, she loves to play it and watch it, so Basketball Riley is perfect for her.

I used this weeks sketch challenge SC282.

I masked out the number on Riley's jersey and added a '17' for her age! Rachel used to love Pingu when she was little, and you could always tell the girls from the boys because the girls have eyelashes! So I added a little bit of lash to Riley to make him a Sophie!

I coloured Riley with copics. I also used the wood floor stamp on the bottom and coloured it with copics. The image panel is popped up.

The background has basketballs stamped in matching ink.

Recipe
Stamps: Basketball Riley, wood floor, See D's sports
Paper: black, riding hood red, white
Ink: memento tuxedo black, riding hood red
Accessories: copics, MS edge punch, ribbon, dimensionals, fine tip marker

Notice: I'm still looking for ckflower, the winner of the sentiments from the Blog Hop. Unfortunately if I don't here anything by Friday May 28, I will have to pick another winner. Please email me at virgocat5@cogeco.ca

I love this one, it took forever to colour in the background, but it was worth it! I stamped the Flying Monkey on white and coloured them in...my hand was cramping! I stamped the Bad Witch twice. Then coloured her with copics, cute the head out from one & popped it up.

The sentiment is from the new Oz words #1, it has 14 sentiments! I cut this one in half, matted it and popped it up!

Not much to this card, just time! lol

Recipe
Stamps: Bad Witch, Flying Monkey, Oz words #1
Paper: black, riding hood red, white

The white is embossed with the heart EF and the corner treatments are die cuts from spellbinders In Spades pendant set. The brads were already covered with red sparkles, how perfect!

Speedy's Challenge #3 Spotlighting!

Hello, I made this for the Speedy's Friends challenge, spotlighting!
I can't tell you who many times I've wanted to tell you what I don't like about something I made or the mistakes made, but then I think nah who wants to hear that! But on this one, I loved it til I put the gems on, and then I couldn't get them off without wrecking the paper! and while we're at it, I don't think the spotlight is perfectly aligned and I wish I had popped it up! There that's my confession for today! lol
The card base is black, with a layer of white, and then red that's stamped with the french script and the edges sponged. Then I stamped the scroll in black.
The scroll and the roses are all from the 'Roses for You' set from Mark's Finest Papers.
The rose and leaves were cut out and attached to the label #3 die cut. This is popped up. The highlighted part of the rose is coloured with copics.
REMINDER

Day 3 Wizard of Oz Sneak Peeks!

Hello Everyone, It's day 3 of the Riley in Oz Sneak Peeks, but first I need to tell you there was a bit of confusion about the Blog Hop and release date! So to confirm,

RILEY BLOG HOP: Thursday May 20, 10pm est with the stamps available at Riley & Company at the end of the Hop! So make sure to come back tomorrow and leave some love for all the Design Team members, then you'll have a chance to win some rubber!

Today I'm showing 3 cards, using 3 different stamps Rileys from this release and 2 different sentiment sets!

First is Glenda the Good Witch! I tried to make her as beautiful and sparkly as the original! I coloured her with copics, then using a glue marker I added glitter. She also has little tiny rhinestone stars on her dress and a round one in her crown. She's popped up with dimensionals.

The background dp is from Basic greys Sultry. The die cuts were made with spellbinders In Spades pendant, and the label #4. It's hard to see in the pic, but the white is a shimmery white. I finished it off with pink rhinestones.

Recipe
Stamps: The Good Witch
Paper: pretty in pink, white, shimmery white, Basic Grey Sultry
Ink: memento tuxedo black
Accessories: copics, marvy corner notcher, In spades pendant, label #4, dimensionals, dazzling diamonds glitter, gems

This one I made for the C4C37, the challenge was to make anything with a pocket! This is a Crimped Envelope Pocket Card. I also used this weeks colour challenge CC271 dusty razzleberry saffrons.

The lion was always my favorite character in the Wizard of Oz, probably because he made me laugh! I stamped him onto white, and coloured with copics. For his fur, I used YR23, and Y17. The sentiment is from a new set, Sayings 1, I cut the words apart and popped them up along with the Lion.
This shows the card on the inside, this is also a new sentiment in a set called Oz words 2.
Recipe
Stamps: Lion, Oz words 2, Sayings 1, SU pocket Silhouettes
Paper: rich razzleberry, dusty durango, so saffron, white
envelope
Ink: memento tuxedo black, dusty durango, rich razzleberry, so saffron
Accessories: Copics, sponges, crimper, dimensionals
And this is Dorothy! She looks so sweet, but look a that terrible note she wrote to poor Auntie Em! lol
I used last weeks sketch challenge for this one, SC280. I really had a hard time matching the blues on this one, and almost started over!
Dorothy is coloured with copics. The background is embossed with the Daisies embossing folder, the grass is a MS punch. The note is from the new Oz words 2 set. The metal slide is from the $ store.
Recipe
Stamps: Dorothy, Oz words 2
Paper: baja breeze, barely banana, certainly celery, DCWV Nana's Nursery-boy
Ink: memento tuxedo black, barely banana, certainly celery
Accessories: copics, metal slide, MS grass edge punch, Daisies EF-Crafts-too, sponges, dimensionals
That's it for today! I hope you can come back tomorrow, and join in the Blog Hop, Thursday 10 pm est for a chance to win some rubber!

WOOHOO Time for a Riley Sneak Peek!

Welcome to the Riley and Company Wizard of Oz Sneak Peeks! There are so many awesome stamps this month, it was hard to decide what to show first! Isn't Riley cute as the Scarecrow!

I coloured Scarecrow Riley with copics. The bottom panel is embossed with the forest branches embossing folder. The top is basic grey dp from the Origins pack.

The sign post is a piece of creamy caramel cardstock and I used a marker to draw in faux wood lines. The sentiment on the sign is from a new Sentiment set also being release this month, Oz Words 1, it has 14 sayings!

Here's the inside of the card. I thought that sentiment above went well with this sentiment from the set "Things Riley Would say!"

Here's what I used,
Stamps: Scarecrow Riley, Oz Words 1, Things Riley Would Say
Paper: garden green, creamy caramel, Basic Grey origins, white
Ink: memento tuxedo black, creamy caramel, garden green

Riley Storage and a Peek!

Hello Everyone, well as promised here is a mini tutorial on storing unmounted Rileys! Like I said yesterday, I bought the unmounted Rileys to save money so I could buy more. My original plan was to mount them on ez mount myself. Then I discovered that I could spritz the back of the stamp with a little water and it would cling to the clear block! How easy is that! But then I had stamps everywhere and it wasn't easy to see what I had.

This wasn't my idea, I found it somewhere on the internet, but maybe you haven't seen it, so here goes!

SNEAK PEEK ALERT!

Okay this is the tools you'll need:

Aleene's Tack it over & over, rubber scissors and a foam brush

Here's your sneak peek of this May's Riley release...lol I know...such a tease!!!! ok here they are cut. I lay them of a piece of acetate which is on a scrap piece of cardstock.

Apply the Aleene's Tack it over & over, then spread with the foam brush. You really don't need a whole lot. Then I usually set them aside over night. The next day, I put each stamp in my hand, one at a time, sticking it and unsticking it a few times to lessen the stickyness...okay that sounds crazy but I don't know how else to explain it! lol

Here's the finished product. I bought this leather organizer at Liquidation World which is similar to Big Lots in the US. I think I paid $5.00 for it!!! They often carry this stuff cheap with outdated calendars inside. This binder has 3 rings inside.

Then I took pieces of 8 1/2 x 11" cardstock, cut them in half and rounded the corners. I had them lamenated at the Office Depot, it's very inexpensive.

I punched the holes in them and inserted into my binder! The Rileys stick perfectly. You can see from the photo that they are easy to find and use. I was trying to keep them in alphabetical order, but now I'm running out of space. I'm going to have to move to a regular size binder with full sheets of laminated cardstock! I Love Riley!

I hope you found this helpful. If you have any questions please let me know.

Don't forget the real Riley sneak peeks start tomorrow, with a blog hop on Wednesday 10 pm est and release immediately after, you're going to LOVE this release!

Teapot Tuesday and News!

Hello, sorry I haven`t posted all week, but wait til you see what I`ve been doing! OK first I`ll tell you about this card and then the news!

I made this for this weeks Teapot Tueday Challenge MMTPT93, Felicia Batisha! She thinks she smells freesia! You can find the whole story there, but in short, here`s whats happening!

Batman has taken in his elderly Aunt Felicia Batisha so he can take care of her. Her sister, Aunt Bebatrice is coming for a visit, so Batman needs the batcave spruced up with flowers, birds and things that look & smell pretty!

Holy hydrangeas Batman! these flowers are Beautiful!!! Look at those pretty, sweet smelling flowers, they`re sure to get the job done!

Recipe
Stamps: Vampire Riley
Paper: rich razzleberry, crushed curry, melon mambo, white, dp
Ink: memento tuxedo black
Accessories: copics, MS hydrangea punch, ribbon, dimensionals

Now the News!

Monday May 17 is the first day of the Riley sneak peeks! You won`t want to miss this, it is a huge release, and these stamps are AWESOME! Now I know if you`re like me, you`ll want them all. I have the majority of Riley stamps unmounted, without cling. I bought them this way because it was the cheapest and then I could afford more! Then storage became an issue, so tomorrow I will share a tutorial with you showing how I store my Rileys! It`s really easy and space saving!

The Design Team will start to show sneak peeks Monday May 17, and we`ll be having a BLOG HOP on Wednesday May 19, and of course everyone who leaves a comment on the DT blogs will have a chance to win a Riley!

I`ve also been thinking about doing a tutorial on colouring Riley with copics. Let me know if that`s something you would be interested in.

Have a Great Day!

And this week the Generous owners of Totally Stampalicious are offering a gift certificate, the value will be increased when more people play, so pass it along to all your stamping friends. The Prize will start at $5. and for every 10 players the prize will increase by $5. pretty cool!
I also made this for MMTPT92 Abracadabra hocus pocus! How do I know my card is in focus! Wow that's a mouth full! We could make a card, any card but something had to have disappeared or gone missing from it!
Well poor little Desiree, she was so looking forward to her yummy lollipop but someone had already got to it and almost half of it was missing...disappeared...vanished into thin air...or someones tummy!
Desiree is a Bugaboo image now available as a clear stamp at Totally Stampalicious! I coloured her with copics, and added a frown! I also had to turn to sketch, the lollipops looked funny on their side. The lollipops are dp from the DCWV sweet stack.
The card base is orchid opulence with a layer of barely banana. I embossed the banana layer with a new embossing folder called Dots from Crafts-too, it's 5x5.
So come and play along, the more entries, the bigger the prize!
Recipe
Stamps: Desiree Lollipop
Paper: orcid opulence, barely banana, white, dp DCWV sweet stack

Diapers Diapers Diapers!

Hello again, I combined 2 challenges for this one. I used this weeks sketch challenge SC279, and todays Ways to use it challenge WT269, we were to use some kind of pin.

I had some coloured safety pins I bought at the $ store, which then made me think of diapers and it seemed to really fit with this weeks sketch challenge! You probably can't tell in the photo, but for the white pieces I used thick white cardstock and torn a layer or ply off so that the surface exposed kinda looks like flannel diapers!

The designer paper is from DCWV Nana's nursery and I used certainly celery and brocade blue.

The image is Baby Riley, from Riley and Company. I coloured him with copics and gave him a designer diaper. I had coloured the soother but didn't like it, so I restamped it on white, and cut it out.

Have a great Day!

Laurie

Embossed Vellum!

Hello out there! I made this card for this weeks technique lovers challenge TLC271. We were to emboss vellum and as a bonus make it a card for Mom!

This was a really quick card, and alot less layers than I'm used to! lol The cardbase is regal rose, and then my vellum embossed with a new embossing folder from Crafts-too called swirl frame. I covered the embossed stars with little stars made with a MS punch. Then to make the swirl stand out, I traced it with a sparkly stardust pen by sakura. To attach the vellum, I used scotch brand vellum dbl. sided tape which worked really well and you can't see it!

The image is Scarlette-I'm so excited. She is a Bugaboo image now available at Totally Stampalicious as a clear stamp! Scarlette fits perfectly into the swirl frame, I coloured her with copics, matted it and popped it up.

SCS is down for maintenance right now, so I'll add the links when they're back up.

Thanks for stopping by,
Laurie

Hello, well if you haven't already heard, there is a new Challenge Team over at Mark's Finest Papers. The first challenge is to use red, white and blue, with a fabulous prize!

This is my entry, I added black to the mix. All the stamps are from the Daffodil and Anise set.

I stamped the images and sentiment with versamark and embossed with black embossing powder. The anise was coloured with copics. Fow the butterfly, I used a dauber to sponge on pacific point.

The mat black mat behind the focal image was made by cutting 2 pieces from the labels 4, cutting them in half and making a frame to fit the oval.

The embossed background was made with the butterflies EF from Crafts-too. I used an EK corner punch, I thought it looked nice with the scallops on the black mat.

Recipe

Ink: versamark, pacific point
Accessories: black EP, butterflies EF, nesite label #4, nestie petite oval, oval punch, ribbon, gems, copic, dimensionals, EK corner punch

Happy Tuesday! It's time for another fun challenge from the Riley and Company Design Team. This weeks challenge RILEY0810, is Hosted by Silke (Silli) she is challenging us to make a circle card!

Basketball Riley was coloured with copics, cut out and popped up. I also popped up the stars and #1.

We'd love for you to play along. Please use the keyword RILEY0810, if you upload to SCS or another gallery. You can also leave a comment on the Riley & Company Blog along with a link to your card!

TSMONDAY, Flower Power!

Hello Everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend! It's another Totally Stampalicious Monday, and this weeks challenge is to use flowers, you can use flower stamps, designer paper, embossing, primas etc., whatever you choose! Make sure to upload your card with Mr. Linky on the Totally Stampalicious Blog! Congratulations to last weeks winner Georgia Mac, she won a $5.00 gift certificate!

For todays card, I used 2 stamps sets from Totally Stampalicious. The Little boy is Sean, and the big flowers are from the Fat Mouse set. These are both Bugaboo images which are now available in clear stamps at Totally Stampalicious.

I combined the Flower Power challenge with last weeks sketch challenge SC278.

Sean was stamped twice and coloured with copics. I cut out his head & popped it up, and I also cute out the little flower and leaf.

The bigger flowers were coloured with copics, cut out and I added the stem from the new SU 2 step bird punch. The centers of the flowers are covered in brown stickles. I was going for a black eyed Susan look!

The sentiment is also in the Sean set, and I used the word window but made it smaller. I also used the modern tag punch but made it shorter by cutting it in the middle and overlapping the ends.

If you want to see another card using the flower, please scroll down to see the Mouse carrying a whole bunch of flowers!

Recipe
Stamps: Sean, Fat Mouse-flower
Paper: chocolate chip, summer sun, white
Ink: memento tuxedo black, bashful blue
Accessories: copics, SU 2 step bird punch, word window, small oval punch, modern tag punch, stickles, dimensionals, sponge

Have a Great Day!

Please Don't Eat My Daisies!

Hello out there! I combined a few challenges into this card! The sketch is from this weeks C4C35. The colours are this past weeks CC268 old banana ballet, with the dessert option of a red embellishment - mine is the red heart brad on his butt!

And last but certainly not least the Teapot Tuesday challenge MMTPT91, Sadie my lady that's just a tad shady! Aunt Sadie is determined to win the most prestigious Daisy Gardening Title, but someone (Sir Pluckapetal) has been picking her petals and her Daisies are far from prize worthy!

This cute little Fat mouse is coming to the rescue! He found a beautiful garden filled with daisies and managed to nab as many as his little paws...feet...hmmm what are mice feet called?...anyway he nabbed as many as he could hold as the owner was shaking his fist hollering after him 'PLEASE DON'T EAT MY DAISIES!' obviously he is unaware of Aunt Sadie's predicament, and is misguided in thinking this Fat Mouse eats daisies, silly man...he prefers chocolate cupcakes!

The Cute Fat Mouse is a Bugaboo image turned into a clear stamp, now available at Totally Stampalicious. He's only carrying one daisy in the image, but I stamped him, masked him off and stamped more daisies, masking each as I went along!

Recipe
Stamps: Fat Mouse flower
Paper: ballet blue, old olive, barely banana, white
Ink: memento tuxedo black, barely banana, ballet blue
Accessories: copics, Daisy EF-Crafts-too, oval nestie, heart brad, brads, sponges, stickles, dimensionals, circle punches

Have a great Day!
Laurie
