Season's Greetings!

Hello, I made this for the release challenge on the GinaK forum, GKDAUGTM hosted by TheresaCC, it's a sketch challenge.

It also counts as 1 down on my Christmas card list! lol The card base is always artichoke, with a layer of shimmery white & then SU dp.

I stamped the poinsetta from 'A year of flowers' onto the shimmery white with burnt umber & then used my water brush to pick up ink from the lid of my ink pads to shade in the veins! I cut out 2 flowers & layered them. The center is little tiny clear beads, and then a bit of stickles on top!

The shimmery paper is so pretty, but it's really hard to get a picture of it!

Have a Great Evening!

Hello, I made this for 2 challenges, the Friday challenge on the Hanna Stamps forum HSC83, we were to make a birthday card. The 2nd was Fridays limited supply challenge LSC235 a gift card/money holder including chocolate chip & butterflies!
I found the tutorial for this card/gift card holder on Adela's blog, I thought it was so cool, using an envelope to make a pouch! So I had to give it a try!

I finally got to ink up painting Riley for the 1st time, and thought he would be perfect for a Michael's gift card! I coloured Riley with prisma pencils & oms. I stamped his head again & popped it up. I also added crystal effects to the paint & brush. The butterflies are made with the Martha Stewart punch.

I wasn't quite sure how I wanted the inside tags to look, so after playing around, I ended up with 2 looks. One card has the sentiment and a place to sign. The other holds a Michael's gift card! Thanks for looking and Have a Great Day!

Charlie Makes Me Smile! Entry for Guest Designer Spot!

Hello, this is my entry for Clear Dollar Stamps Guest Designer Challenge CDSGDC0909. I combined the sketch & colours provided for the challenge.

Charlie is so cute, you can't help but smile at him! My card base is not quite navy, with a layer of chocolate chip, and then dp from basic greys Mellow. The part circle is also from the basic grey mellow pkg, & embossed with the leafy branch EF.

I used Charlie Autumn and stamped him with burnt umber palette onto very vanilla. I also stamped the leaves on the bottom a 2nd time, and the sentiment. Charlie & the leaves were coloured with copics. I cut out the leaves & popped them up. The images & sentiment were cut using the oval/scallop nesties. The maple leaf was made with a fiskars punch.

Wish me luck and Have a Great Day!

Happy Birthday & Pendant Holder!

Hello, this is a card & gift holder I made for my Girlfriend for her birthday! I was really happy with the way this turned out! I had also made the card for a challenge to make a card with a window. That took alot of thought & patients to line up, but I finally did it!

The card base is tempting turquiose. The bottom front is a piece of coredinations (love that stuff) embossed with the swiss dot EF, and lightly sanded. On the top, I used a stamp from SU garden silouette, and stamped in versamark. Then I used embossing powder from Michael's called Marcasite, it's black with sparkle in it! The window was made with the nestie curved rectangle mega dies. The sentiment is from SU Great Friend, I cut it out by hand. The black layer behind it was made with the matchbox die.
I didn't take a pic of the inside..oops! But the girls are from the Breast Cancer Hanna set. I coloured them with copics, and added dp for the dresses.

One of my favorite places to visit is Faith's blog, aka Markie's Mom. She had a fabulous tutorial on making this nestie box/bag. I loved it so much I had to buy the nestie set & give it a try, and as it turned out, it was the perfect holder for my gift!

I used the SU Garden Silouette set again here. The londer branches are stamped in just black, and the smaller ones are done in versamark & EP the same as above. All the butterflies are made with a Martha Stewart punch, and I added tiny gems to the centers.

This is the pendant holder. I just cut the cardstock to fit the pendant & fit inside nicely so it didn't move around too much. The top tab is made with the tab punch & helps to easily pull it out!

Have a Great Day!

School Sophie & a New Link!

Hello, well in my quest to catch up after being away for a week, I managed to include 3 challenges on this one!

This is the new School Girl Sophie, isn't she cute! I love the little tilt of her head.

I combined the Friday challenge on the Hanna Stamps forum HSC83 to use dew drops, with the colour challenge CC232 using cocoa, vanilla teal, and the sketch challenge SC241!

I used the #'s and letters from the Teacher Hanna set for the background. Sophie was coloured with copics.

A while back I added a link to my Husbands ebay store. Today I added a link to the Craft Items in the store. You can find it on the right sidebar. He always has different items so keep checking, he may have something you're looking for!

Have a Great Day!

Macho Riley Rides a Harley!

and he needs a good soak in the tub to easy his aching muscles! I had this idea in my head a couple days before the last challenge was due! Unfortunately I didn't have time to make it before I went away, but the idea wouldn't go away so I had to make it!

This also fits the Friday challenge on the Hanna Stamps forum HSC82, hosted by Nikki, aka bunny-zoe. We were to use a distressing technique. I used the SU distressing tool, and on the card I crumpled up the 2 black stripes to get a worn leathery look.

I found the recipe for the bath salts online, they're pretty easy.

1 cup epsom salts
1/4 cup sea salt
2-3 tbsp baking soda
scented oil (soap isle at Michaels)

You can also colour it by adding food colouring, but I chose not to because I figured orange would be too much orange, and black just didn't seem appealing! lol

I found the mug at a new $ store that just opened here, Dollar Giant. They had a whole isle of scrapbooking stuff too!

So there you have it, a nice gift for the macho guy in your life!
Have a Great Day!

3rd Entry for Hanna Stamps Guest Designer Challenge

Hello, I made this for the Guest Designer Challenge on the Hanna Stamps forum. This is the 3rd round, and we were to make something 3D. This is a card that will fold flat & then pop up to look like a cake! I copied the pattern from a card I received (store bought) and took apart!

I'll be honest, I'm not thrilled about this, and I didn't get the bath salts finished that were to go along with it!

I am on vacation for the 1st time ever! with my family, so you won't be hearing from me again for about a week! Hope you have a great one!

Sweet Dreams Riley

Hello, I made this for my BIL and his family. Their dog Riley passed on his week. He was a long time member of the family.

I used the Large breed dog set from Hanna Stamps.

I stamped the image in memento black, and coloured with copics. I also used a white inkessentials pen to make the gray tips!

The top of the card is white sponged with soft sky & baja breeze. I used the scallop circle punch to make the mask. The birds are from the Ahoy Hanna set.

The bottom is coredinations paper embossed with the houndstooth EF. I finished it off with grosgrain ribbon & a heart charm.

Thanks for stopping by!

Lunch Box Message & Treat!

Hi Again, I made this for the second August release challenge on the Hanna Stamps Forum. We were to make something using the Back to School theme.
A couple weeks ago, I spotted this little pack of business size cards to put in kids lunches at Michaels in the $1.50 bin (that's the $1.00 bin in the US with a huge markup!) They each have a possitive little message on one side, and an information/trivia type fact on the back.

Quite some time ago I had ordered some tins online, including little metal business card holders! Ha..ha I knew they would come in handy some day!!! lol So this is a metal business card holder, covered in DP from basic grey.

I stamped School Riley onto white & coloured him with copics. I cut Riley and the books out separately and mounted them on ovals. I also added crystal effects to his glasses and the apple. The tin is big enough that you could also slip a little treat in there!

Have a Great Day!

Oh no Emily Has a Cast!

Hello, well one of Olivia's close friends, Emily is sporting a cast! She was injured during her soccer game! When hearing the news Olivia (9) was really upset & couldn't sleep. She asked if she could make a card for her friend the next day, so here's her card.

She picked the bikini Sophie and coloured her with prisma colour pencils & oms. She wasn't sure what layout to use, so I suggested she look through some of my cards. She chose this one.

She picked out the dp, and the colours to go along with it & the ribbon. She was also dying to use the dew drops, so she added those too. Olivia told me what she wanted the caption to be, it's computer generated! I helped put it together & made the cast.

Of course the finishing touch was the crutches charm!

Bubble Bath #2 Ahhhhhh!

Hello, here's my second entry for round 2 of the Hanna Stamps Guest Designer challenge!

Oh Sophie just looks so relaxed! I love all the bubbles! I will confess, I added pink highlights in the water & under Sophie's chin, which I really don't like, they're too dark! I tried to cover them with extra glitter, but it's still bugging me!

The card base is pink piroutette, with white embossed with the swiss dot EF. The fancy circle was made with the Spellbinders eyelet pendant, and the strip on the bottom is the matching eyelet border die. Don't they look pretty with the pearls!

I stamped Sophie on white, and coloured her in with copics. I used dazzling diamond glitter & crystal effects to pretty it up!

Get Well for my Uncle Bob!

Hello, I made this for my Uncle Bob, he's having a quadruple bypass on Friday! Now the story is that he first started to have pain or discomfort while lifting a canoe. So canoes make me think of birch bark. I used the sames steps for making faux wood, which can be found here in the resourses section at SCS. It's a fantastic tutorial by Kim. So to make the birch, I started with nautral white cs, & used going grey, basic grey & white craft ink. I blended it the dark grey too much, I think it needs some darker spots!

Anyway, I wanted a more manly get well card, since it's for my Uncle! I chose the colours by flipping through the dp first, and settled on Basic Greys Marrakech. The new Dusty Durango & retired Pacific point seemed to go good. I stamped Riley on white with noir black palette, and coloured with prisma colour pencils & oms. The thermometer is covered with crystal effects. I popped up his head. The pillow & comforter are dp. The footboard is the faux birch untextured! I don't often use chipboard, but I wanted to include big heart since he's having heart surgery, I think it turned out ok! I used faux leather to tie it on...the heart that is! lol

Laughter Is the Best Medicine!

Hello, I made this for the Friday challenge HSC80 on the Hanna Stamps forum. This weeks challenge is hosted by the talented Joycelyn aka Stamps'nCoffee, she challenged us to use watercolours!

It may not be your typical breast cancer card, but this is what popped into my head so I went with it! If it puts a smile on your face, then my plan worked! lol

Well this may be a bit of a stretch as far as the watercolouring goes, but I did use SU inks & waterbrush to shade in the breasts & sentiment! I used my new SU shimmery white paper, cut them in strips 1.25" each. Then I stamped the image in burnt umber, watercoloured & added bling!

The heart sentiment was stamped onto the shimmery white too, and then I cut it out & popped it up over the pink heart made with the lg SU heart punch.

So what do you think?

Bubble Bath #1 - The Happy Couple!

Hello, I made this for the 1st entry in round 2 of the Hanna Stamps Guest Designer challenge.

All the entrants were given this new Bubble Bath Sophie to create with!

This is my fun take on an Anniversary or Wedding card!

I stamped Sophie onto white, and I also used the body of St. Patty Beer Riley! I stamped the head of Fins Riley on another piece of white & cut out.

I drew in the tiled floor with a fine tip marker. All the images were coloured with copics.

Sophie's bubbles are covered with dazzling diamonds EP. I also covered Sophies wine glass, Riley's beer and the water on the floor with crystal effects. The main image is popped up, as well as the hearts!

Let me know what you think?

Last 2 for the DTGD09 Challenges!

The perfect summer bookmark, I made this one for me! I wish I looked like Mermaid Hanna!
I made this for DTGD09genie1314 - Tag art, a bookmark is really a tag right! lol It also fits DTGD09sgtstamper - embellish you hues of blue. I sponged with several blues, added blue stickles, blue gems, blue eyelet & blue ribbon.

To finish off the last 2 DTGD09 challenges, I inked up a stamp from 'A Flower For All Seasons' for the first time! I love those little images. I combined DTGD09rainy sketch challenge with DTGD09basilefamily - The Happiest Hour, an inspiration piece.

Thanks for stopping by! Stay tuned, I'll be posting my first entry for round #2 of the Hanna Stamps Guest Designer Challenge using Bubblebath Sophie!
