GinaK November Release Challenges

All of my items posted today were made for the challenges leading up to & after the November release on the GinaK forum.

The first picture is a chocolate lovers birthday card! We were to use 3 or more stamp sets from GinaK. Luckily I have lots!!!! This card uses Just so Sporty, Little Tee’s & Retro Boutique.

I love making fun cards, and this one certainly was! I used my scor-pal for the first time and covered the brads with iridescent ice EP, they look like they’re covered in sugar.

The second card was made for a sketch challenge posted by Jessica (Jessjean). I really liked this sketch, and I’m sure I’ll use it again. I may even make more poinsettia cards in different colours! The poinsettia is from Melanie’s set ‘A year of flowers’.

I just wish the beads in the center had been a solid white, I think that would have looked better. I was going to use liquid pearl, but I can’t seem to get it to look round on top…it always looks pointed! If anyone has any tips on getting a more rounded look, please let me know.

The first challenge on the Ginak forum for the release party was hosted by Erika (SunshineMama). When I first saw it, I was totally discouraged. I’ve never done a scrapbook page on my own before…and with a deadline!!! But since Erika mentioned we could make it the size we wanted, I decided to try an 8x8 page.

Of course I couldn’t find the picture I wanted to use, it may still be on the computer somewhere! So I flipped through some loose photos we had out, and decided on this one. I used to sew, like many other papercrafters. The photo was taken on Canada Day in 2000, I made them all something to wear that day, tops for the girls, & shorts for Andre. I’m really like how this turned out.

Melanie Muenchinger posted a challenge on the GinaK forum before the release night, for a chance to win one of her 2 new sets. The 1st challenge was to use Just so sporty, or Little Tee’s. I used the Little Tee’s set and made this t-shirt of hope with a pink sparkly ribbon.

The second challenge was to make something using any of her other stamps. I hadn’t used the poinsettia from “A year of Flowers’ at this point, so this is the first card I made with it, and I won a free set!!! Gotta love that!

I also used the colour challenge on SCS that week, CC192 pacific point, certainly celery, and basic grey.

Well that’s it for today…I hope you have a great evening! I’m going to check & see if the winners have been posted.

Laurie
